During the upcoming 2016-17 hockey season the senior team will play on home ice in November and in February the team will travel to South Korea before competing in the Division 1/A World Championships in Kiev.
The schedule and the program for the upcoming men's national team season is being put together. On Friday the IIHF had voted to have the Division 1/A World Championships to be played in Kiev Ukraine between April 22nd and the 28th, 2017.
During the season the National team will play in two separate EIHC tournaments, once during the November international break in Budapest with the second tournament being played during the February international break in South Korea.
The November tournament will be two group six team competition, the Hungarian group will be rounded out by Denmark and Poland, with the other group being Austria, Italy and South Korea. After the group stage there will be a 5th place, 3rd place and a first place game, every team is guaranteed to play three matches.
In February Hungary will face Japan and Denmark along with the host team South Korea.
