After a successful season the Miskolc hockey team is joining up with the DVTK sports. Miskolc manager Gergely Egri went in depth about this as well as where the youth system is also in this picture.
The question that is on the top of the list for every Miskolc fan is what should they expect for the logo next season and what will happen with the colors for the defending champions and renamed DVTK Jegesmedvék?
“There will be changes on some level, but this is a long process which started some time ago. The club name stands for a value and a particular culture, it is a community that we do not want it to melt into the DVTK name. He are happy to be a part of the DVTK family, but with the owners we would like to stay PolarBears. With regards to the near future we are still in discussion about what our logo will be or what jersey we will have for the upcoming season” Egri also added “what colors we will wear is only part of the partnership we have a sponsorship contract between the two sides as well where the Borosod Invest KFT, the DVTK owners and the hockey team will have an agreement with the image as well as infrastructural partnership and the youth program. We will work together in developing a future not only in Miskolc or Borsod but in the region as well.”
Gergely Egri was also asked how this new partnership would affect the youth system of the club.
“The youth teams will not really see any changes, with the start of the season around the corner the management has been dealing with the senior team mostly but eventually the youth teams will also see changes, we are talking about possibly have an academy structure in the future.”

Sticking with the youth system icehockey.hu asked about how did they find new U18 head coach Jason Morgan.
“Just like last season our “agent” Jesse Dudas was a lot of help with bringing in import players as well as coaches. Jesse was constantly giving us names, all we really had to do was sit back and pick out the ones that we thought would be the best fit for our club, this is how we picked Jason” Jason Morgan happened to be teammates with Levente Szuper with the St.Johns Flames of the AHL during three seasons, one of which they won the Calder Cup. “We will be relying on his knowledge and experience in all age groups but he will mostly be working with the U18 squad”
For the 2015-16 season Miskolc and Debrecen will have joint teams in the Austrian U18 and U20 leagues. Morgan will be the head coach of the U18 squad with an assistant from Debrecen, at the U20 level Debrecen will be providing the head coach with Péter Láda coming from Miskolc as the assistant coach.
