Rich Chernomaz, the head coach of the both the Men’s senior and U20 national teams will have his hands full for the next week as he will be pulling double duty. Both the senior and the U20 teams will be in training camp, which will be followed by a round of cuts and a Four Nations Tournament.
Luckily for coach Chernomaz both tournaments will be taking place in Budapest with close proximity to each other. Both training camps will be held at the Ice Palace before the young guys move down the road to Megyeri út, the home of MOL League club Újpest for the actual tournament, where Hungary will be playing France, Italy and Slovenia.
Hungary will be facing France in next month’s U20 Division 1B world championships with Slovenia and Italy playing one level above Hungary. Joining Chernomaz on both coaching staffs will be Tamás Sille and Gary Clark, rounding out the U20 coaching staff will be Zoltán Szilassy.
Starting on Monday Chernomaz will have 4 goalies, 13 defencemen and 18 forwards, this is clearly not the final roster for the U20 World Championships since there are players who are playing abroad who will be also in consideration for the team.
