Hungary Women’s team traveled to St.Pölten Austria to take on the Canadian Women’s developmental team, basically a U23 team.

Canada won 6-0 in a game in which they out shot Hungary 29-7. This Canadian team will mostly likely be the team that represents Canada at the 2018 winter games, with a large amount of the girls playing in the NCAA.

Tibor Marton and goalie coach Zuzana Tomciková decided to start Anikó Németh in net, Németh faced the Canadian U18 before last years women's junior world championships in Budapest.

Over the coaching staff and the player were not disappointed in their performance, Canada was a stronger and faster team.

“What we most importantly were expecting from the girls was that they play with courage and should not be afraid to a couple of mistakes on the ice and to show what they can do. This did not happen at the beginning and they were giving Canada too much respect, we played scared and give up a lot of space. In the second period we were able to pick up their pace and in the third period we played the best and were able to keep up with their speed.” coach Tibor Marton
