Rich Chernomaz and the U20 coaching staff has set their final roster for the upcoming tournament in France.
Making the trip will be two goalies, seven defencemen and thirteen forwards, seven of the players are playing abroad during the season. The team will leave for France Tuesday night, with an ice session on Wednesday before their first game on Thursday against Italy. The U20 team still faces the host team France on Friday and Slovenia on Saturday.
Defencman Bence Stipsicz talked to icehockey.hu about what the team is expectibg in France. “We worked on tactics, offensive zone draws, offensive zone, play defensive zone play, checking, we justed wanted to get everyone on the same page, making sure we are playing together. Everyone knows that the world championships are around the corner, they want to play well and make the team, it's an opportunity to show the coaches what they got.”
