Two teams with Hungarian players stepped on the ice in the CHL last night, both Krefeld and Linz came up on the short side.
Linz was at least able to pick up a point in their 3-2 overtime loss to TPS Turku however Mátés Gáspár again was not in the lineup.
Krefeld not only had István Sofron in their lineup but he has become a regular on the first line. Kärpät Oulu beat them 4-1, Sofron finished with 0 point and a -1 in the defeat.
“We arrived a day earlier in Finland so that we would be rested for the game, unfortunately we were not able to pick up the pace of our opponents”, said Sofron after their trip back from Helsinki, “this time the difference between the two clubs was larger than when we played at home (2-0 loss), but they were the Finnish champs last season. We were not too much under ourselves because of this and on Saturday we will be facing the Vienna Capitals, which is an important game for me, not only because I want to win but because I have friends and family coming out and I want to get revenge for Volán as well”
Linz is third in group G with one point behind TPS who has five points and Düsseldorf who has three, Krefeld is also in third with 0 points in group J. Kärpät has nine, with Vienna also sitting with zero.
Kredfeld is back on the ice on Saturday with Linköping and Vilmos Galló playing on Sunday and so is Balázs Sebők for KalPa.
