After a successful 2014-15 season in which Miskolc won the Hungarian title, Hungarian Cup and the MOL League, the team under a new name is looking to add a new trophy to the collection.

DVTK opened up the second round of the Continental Cup on home ice against Latvian champions Mogo Riga. The home team had their captain Roland Hajós back in the lineup, coach Péter Mayer gave Attila Adorján the start in net, Riga countered with Henrijs Ancs in the cage. Diósgyőr looked like the stronger team in the first period as they created more chances but neither them or Riga were able to score. The game started to get chippy as the period came to a close, this carried over to the second period where Kalvin Sagert scored a power play goal when he ripped one down the pipe. It didn't take long for Riga to tie the game up, less than a minute later Edgars Kurmis took a pass from Edgars Lipsbergers from behind the net and easily put it past Adorján, they quickly went up on a power play goal by Andrejs Lavernovs who scored from the slot.

The third period was much like the first as in DVTK looked like the better team but Ancs was stopping everything that they were throwing at him. With 1:21 left in the game DVTK called timeout and pulled the goalie, but was not enough as Riga held on for the 2-1 win.

DVTK head coach Péter Mayer: We controlled the first and third periods, we could not stuff in a single puck past the goalie but this happens in hockey, now we have to look forward to the next game.

HK Mogo Riga head coach Oļegs Sorokins: It was a really even game, both teams really wanted to win we had a bit better second period, we got tired at the end, but our goalie kept us in because they could scored one or two more.

Jessenice-Jaca 3-1

In the early game Slovenian club HDD Jesenice took on C.H. Jaca from Spain. Alder Alcaine was in net for for Jaca and Jure Pavlic for Jesenice. Ales Remar put the favored Slovenian side up 1-0, in the second period Matevz Erman made it 2-0, minutes later Miha Pesjak roofed a shot to make it 3-0. Jaca got on the board when Pol Gonzalez scored from the slot. Jaca started to play stranger as the game went on but were not able to close the gap as Pavlic stood tall the rest of the way.

HDD Jesenice coach Dejan Varl: I'm not really satisfied with my team today, we were not playing at the level that we should be at, we had chances that we did not capitalize on, we need to concentrate and be able to move the puck better. Both Miskolc tomorrow and Riga on Sunday are better teams.
