Continental Cup: DVTK to play in Tychy

An unexpected applicant also applied to host Group C of the Continental Cup, the same group that the Hungarian Champion is also playing in, with the IIHF awarding the hosting rights to them, over Miskolc.

With the IIHF wanting a balanced field, they decided to re-rank the nations that have teams competing in the tournament. Because of this the Ukrainian champion HC Donbass and the Polish champion GKS Tychy switched places. With the switch Tychy dropped down a group to the one that DVTK Jegesmedvék will be playing in and Donbass has moved up one. Both Miskolc and Tychy were aspiring to host their opening group stage.

The cities all presented their application bid with the voting results being announced after a quick coffee break. DVTK Jegesmedvék will be traveling to Tychy Poland for the weekend of October 21st-23rd where they will be facing Dunarea Galati and Acroni Jesenice along with the host team.
