The Disciplinary Committee investigated the MOL League game MOL 168 (Dunaujvarosi Acelbikak – ASC Corona Brasov), where after 30 minutes Zsolt MOLNAR (ASC Corona Brasov) was penalized 5 + 20 minutes (KNEE, GA-MI). The Committee made the following conclusions:

IIHF RULE 153 – KNEEING
DEFINITION: A skater who extends his knee for the purpose of making contact with an opponent. A skater who uses his knee to make contact with an opponent will be assessed at least a minor penalty. A skater who injures or recklessly endangers an opponent by kneeing will be assessed a major penalty and automatic game-misconduct penalty or match penalty.
According to the he Disciplinary Committee's statement, the player collided with his knee with the opposing player, who posessed the puck. Such impacts are particularly dangerous and should be avoided in all cases.
The Disciplinary Commitee suspends Zsolt MOLNAR, the ASC Corona BRASOV player for 2 matches.
This is the second time during the season that Zsolt MOLNAR, recieved a Game Misconduct (GA-MI) penalty.
IIHF rule book RULE 109 - DURATION OF PENALTIES - GAME MISCONDUCT
A player who receives two game-misconduct penalties in the same game or different games of a tournament or event is automatically suspended for one further game.
Zsolt MOLNAR will skip +1 match of his team.
The player will spend down his sentence at the next MOL League matches.
