The Disciplinary Committee investigated the MOL League game MOL 205 (Dunarea Galati - HK Beograd) where Alexandru-Cristian MUNTEANU, player of Dunarea Galati was penalized 5+20 minutes for roughing (ROUGH, GA-MI), and Dimitrije FILIPOVIC the player of HK Beograd was penalized 25 minutes for roughing (ROUGH, MATCH). The Committee made the following conclusions:
IIHF RULE 158 – ROUGHING
DEFINITION: A player who jostles or strikes an opponent during the game. A player involved in a confrontation with an opponent will be assessed a minor, double minor, or major and automatic game-misconduct penalty. A player who persists in continuing to be involved in roughing is subject to rules for fighting.
IIHF RULE 141 – FIGHTING
DEFINITION: A player who punches an opponent during game action, after a whistle, or any time during the regular course of a game during a prolonged player confrontation. A player who starts a fight will be assessed a match penalty.
According the Disciplinary Committee after the scrum, the HK Beograd player threw his gloves, and initiated another fight.
The Disciplinary Committee for Alexandru-Cristian MUNTEANU approved the referee’s judgement, and do not use other sanctions.
The Disciplinary Committee suspends Dimitrije FILIPOVIC , the HK Beograd player for 1 match. Dimitrije FILIPOVIC was imposed Match Penalty (MATCH) during the game.
IIHF rule book RULE 110 – DURATION OF PENALTIES/MATCH
A match penalty carries with it an automatic (and minimum) one-game suspension. Dimitrije FILIPOVIC will skip plus 1 match of his team. The player will spend down his sentence at the next MOL League matches.
