The Disciplinary Commission no.2015-16/047 decree
The Disciplinary Committee investigated the MOL League game MOL 218 (UTE – Debreceni HK) where Adam VAY goalkeeper of Debreceni HK was being penalized 25 minutes for fighting (FIGHT).
The Committee made the following conclusions:
After 35 minutes the goalkeeper of Debreceni HK hit the opponent player more times on his head with his blocker
IIHF RULE 219 – FIGHTING/GOALTENDER
DEFINITION: Hitting an opponent with gloves on or removing gloves to engage in fisticuffs. A goaltender who uses his blocker glove to punch an opponent in the head, neck, or face will be assessed a match penalty. According to the findings of the Disciplinary Committee, the goalkeeper hit the opponent player on his head with one of the toughest piece of the equipment. The goalkeeper initiated the fight. This type of movements could cause serious injuries.
The Disciplinary Commitee suspends Adam VAY, the DHK goalie for 3 MOL League matches.
The player will spend down his sentence during the next 3 MOL League matches.
