
The Disciplinary Commission no.2015-16/053 decree
The Disciplinary Committee investigated the MOL League game MOL 225 (DVTK Jegesmedvek – Debreceni HK) where Norbert HARI, player of Debreceni HK was being penalized 10+20+25 minutes for unsportsmanlike behavior, and abuse of officials (MISC, GA-MI, MATCH). The Committee made the following conclusions:
In the 36th minutes, the player of Debreceni HK criticized the referee's activity in unsportsmanlike tone. After that the player swung, throwed his stick toward to the referee from the bench.
IIHF RULE 168 – UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT
DEFINITION: A player or team official who commits a violation of the rules pertaining to sportsmanship, fair play, and respect.
Misconduct Penalty - If a violation is flagrant or if a player continues his unsportsmanlike conduct, he may be assessed a misconduct penalty.
Game-Misconduct Penalty - A player or team official who uses obscene, profane, or abusive language directed to any person on the ice or anywhere in the rink for which he has already been assessed a minor or bench-minor penalty will be assessed a game-misconduct penalty.
IIHF RULE 116 – ABUSE OF OFFICIALS
DEFINITION: An attempt by a player or team official to usurp the power of an on-ice official, demean or degrade an on-ice official, call into question the integrity or ability of an on-ice official, or physically confront an on-ice official.
Match Penalty - A player who swings his stick at an on-ice official.
According to the Disciplinary Committee's opinion, the player behaved unsportsmanlike against the referee.
The Disciplinary Commitee approve the referee’s judgement, and do not use other sanctions. According to the rules, the Match Penalty means that the player has to miss 1 match autamatically.
The player is suspended for the next MOL League match.
