Fehérvár AV19 is ahead of a hard weekend as they are on a three game slide and have five players out of the lineup. They travel to Salzburg on Friday and will host Linz on Sunday night.
As well as the season started for Alba Volán that's how much of a struggle it has become, they started the season with three wins, which they have followed up with three losses. To make matters worse they have picked up another injury this past week, István Bartalis and Andrew Sarauer have yet to play this season and Frank Banham has been in and out of the lineup. Defenseman Aaron Brocklehurst who broke his hand has now been joined by Attila Orbán on the injured list.
“At practice on Wednesday I came down on my elbow and ripped it open” said Orbán to fehervarav19.hu, “in the hospital they stitched it up right away but Thursday morning I was told that I will have to miss this weekend, I didn’t practice the rest of the week and they have been changing the wrap on it every day.”
In the meantime Salzburg has won three times and haved moved up to 8th place in the standings, after being in last place after the first three games.
“Both teams have a record of 3-3” said Alba Volán head coach Rob Pallin, “Salzburg has outshot their opponents in every game so far even in their 7-1 loss to Znojmo. We will have to defend very well and take advantage of the powerplays. We have to play disciplined and get a great performance from our goaltending. We will have a young team which is great for player development but we have to look at how we have a short bench, a win would be huge for us.
On Sunday Máté Gáspár and Black Wings Linz will be traveling to Fehérvár, the 18 year old forward has yet to play in the EBEL this season.
