
After the starting the week with high hopes Fehérvár went 0 for 3 with two overtime losses to Graz which was followed up by being shutout in Linz.
Graz 99er-Fehérvár AV19 4-3 OT
It looked as if things were starting to turn around for Volán, they were mostly healthy with Blackwater, Bartalis and Becze missing and Miklós Rajna had been playing great in net. Graz took an early lead but Brendan Connolly tied it up. In the second period Graz again went up by one, this time Frank Banham pulled Fehérvár even again at 2-2. A Ryan Martinelli power play goal put Fehérvár up 3-2 early in the third period but this time Evan Brophey tied it up for Graz in the last five minute of the game. In overtime Brophey stuck again to give the home team two points and Fehérvár the third one.
Fehérvár AV19-Graz 99ers 2-3 OT
Despite the overtime, loss the team was confident that they would pick up the three points at home. New addition Ryan Kinasewich was in the lineup unfortunately Becze was not back as originally expected, Rajna was in the net. After a scoreless first period Graz took the first lead of the game but Volán tied it up when Chris Francis sprang Connolly for a short handed goal. Less than a minute later Graz capitalised on the power play when MacArthur put the puck past Rajna. In the last minute of the period Ladislav Sikorcin skated in on a breakaway, when he took a stick to the face, there was no call on the play but Kevin Wehrs followed it up and put the puck in the Graz net. Sikorcin had to leave the game, he ended up with a couple of stitches. After a scoreless third period Brophey scored his second overtime goal in two games.
Black Wings Linz-Fehérvár AV19 5-0
After the two overtime losses Rob Pallin decided to give Rajna a rest and went with Zoltán Hetényi in net. Tamás Sárpátki was back in the lineup however Chris Francis and Sikorcin joined Becze, Blackwater and Bartalis on the injured list. After a scoreless first period Kozak scored 41 seconds into the second period to put Linz up 1-0 with a power play goal. DaSilva made it 2-0 and at 28:57 Göhringer made it 3-0, before the period was out Linz pretty much had the game in the bag as Hofer made it 4-0. During the break Coach Pallin switched goalies going from Hetényi to Rajna. Linz didn’t really let Rajan get settled as Hofer scored his second of the game 57 second into the period as Linz blanked Fehérvár.
