Fehérvár has a three game work week ahead of them as they travel to Innsbruck and Ljubljana before heading back home to finish off the week against Klagenfurt.
Head coach Rob Pallin does not have it easy, the team is on a five game losing streak, seemingly every game a forward gets injured and now they are playing to road games in arenas that are not easy to win in. Andrew Saraeur and István Bartalis have yet to play a game this season and Frank Banham has missed the last couple of games as well, joined them on the injured list is Judd Blackwater who will be missing these three games for sure, the team will have newley signed forward Timotej Sille available. On the blueline the situation is better as Attila Orbán and Aaron Brocklehurst are back and only Attila Reiter is still banged up.
The last time Fehérvár faced Innsbruck they picked up the three points but that was on home ice, with a win Fehérvár could be tied on points with the Austrian club. John Lammers is the leading scorer for them with seven points in eight games.
On Sunday Volán travels to Slovenia to take on Olimpia Ljublana, a team that is behind them in the standings but they are never easy to beat. Ziga Pesut and Anze Ropret are the two scorers that Bence Szirányi and the rest of the defensive unit will have to keep an eye on.
Fehérvár closes out the week on Tuesday against a team they beat early in the season but who have since then played well to put themselves into fourth place. Klagenfurt’s great start is because both Manuel Geier and Oliver Setzinger have 10 points in the first eight game.
It will be key for Fehérvár to get great goaltending from both Miklós Rajan and Zoltán Hetényi, who have been rotating in net all season.
“I have to become a better coach, I have to find ways to win with a depleted roster that we have” said Rob Pallin.
