After playing the past season in one of the top junior leagues in the world in the USHL Csanád Erdély has come back to Fehérvár and the EBEL.

After already playing in his second senior World Championships the 1996 born forward Csanád Erdély made the decision to come back to Hungary and play for his former youth coach Tyler Dietrich. Csanád left a year ago after being drafted by the Sioux Falls Stampede of the USHL where he had a season of development.

After signing the contract with Fehérvár AV19 Csanád sat down with icehockey.hu to talk about his past year and what he expects from the upcoming season.

What was main reason for coming back?
I could have played NCAA hockey and there were schools interested in me  but because of a couple of minor issues I didn't feel that it was a real option. With the NCAA not happening I didn't think that I could develop as much this season as I did last season in the USHL.

You could have played in other leagues, why the EBEL?
I figured that if I was going to play pro I would play some place that I was familiar with. Also one of the reasons was because of  new head coach Tyler Dietrich and the great relationship that I have with him.

What do you expect from yourself for this season?
I want to be more of a complete player in my second full season with Fehervar, of course I want my team to succeed as well. The most important thing is for the team to succeed and that means you are successful as a player.

What was the past season like in the USHL?
The past season was great I grew as a person and as a player both on and off the ice. I had a great relationship with my coach and I managed to.improve the defensive side of my game. Also when you are on the other side of the world from you friends and family you are forced to adapt to what is around you. I experienced a new culture and my english language skills improved as well.
