This past weekend an Olympic qualifying round was held where Estonia has moved on to the next round where they will face Lithuania and Poland as well as Hungary, in Budapest February 11th-14th.
As Hungary was playing a tournament in Stavanger Norway against the host nation, Denmark and France the Estonian national team took on Israel, Georgia and Mexico on home ice. The Estonian team under the leadership of coach Jussi Tupamaki destroyed the opposition, by the scores of 19-1, 26-0 and 13-3 respectively.
The last time these two teams met was April 13th 2008 in Sapporo when Hungary won 5-3 on their way to being promoted to the A-Pool.
The record against Estonia is 2 wins, 2 draws and 2 loses with 26 goals scored by both teams.
