KMH Budapest had one goal this season and that was to make the playoffs. With the national team players as the backbone of the roster and 3 imports rounding it out it was clear the team would have a strong season.
“Alex Gowie had played with us last season and she has had great chemistry with the other two forwards on her line, Rebeka Ungár and Vivien Somogyi. Olympian Pepe Pravlikova has also fit in well with her linemates, Réka Dabasi and Hanna Pintér. In the third line we had mostly used younger players, Noémi Egyedi, Petra Pavuk and Lilien Szelényi. Our defencemen are also experienced, Bernadett Németh and Enikő Tóth with Jelena Grkovic improving tremendously during the season. We also tried to get more younger players playing time at his position as well such as Dorka Preisinger and Hanna Gaitz” said coach Zoltán Fodor. “In net Anikó Németh is our number one keeper as she had a goals against average with 2.63, our backup Ashley Kuechle played great when we gave her a start.”
This was the first season where KMH was able to beat the Vienna Sabers on the road, and also defeat Bolzano, and they were able to pick up points against every team.
“This might have been the most balanced season among the teams in the league as we were able to finish the regular season in fourth place.” said Réka Dabasi during the season.
