
The Friday night was all about teh goalies as there were two shutouts out of the four games, however the loosing goalies played great as well.
DHK-HSC 4-0
Csíkszereda travelled to Hungary with a new coach however he was just along for the ride as István Geréb would still be in charge for the road trip. For the first time this season Csíkszereda was taking advantage of the import exception as they dressed eight imports, including starting goalie for the game Marek Peksa. Missing was Oleg Blagoy because of because of visa problems and newly signed Kirils Tambijevs will be joined the club later on the road trip. Also missing as mentioned before was injured players Zsombor Antal, Szabolcs Papp, Róbert Péter and the Molnár brothers. The home team has picked up some injuries along the way, not in the lineup, Ladányi and Izsák have been out all season but Zoltán Csíki could be out for a bit as well, Ádám Vay was in net. The home team got on the scoreboard first when Bronson Kovács threw a shot on net that got blocked up Danil Kaskov was on the spot to put the rebound in. Late in the second period Debrecen pulled away as Yevegni Kunayev scored a tap in after Garrett Milan skated around the net and made a pass out front. Minutes later Vladislav Troshin went back door to Kaskov who had an open net and puck trickled in after hitting the far post. The Debrecen defence held on as Vay stopped all attacks. Norbert Dancsfalvi was set up by Milan on a give and go. Vay went the rest of the way to record his first shutout of the season.
DAB-FTC 3-2
Ferencváros travelled south along the Danube to Dunaújváros where they hoped to pick up point to stay with the lead pack in the league. Fradi was without Tamás Odry and Márton Mach but had newly signed Linus Schellin, Krisztián Budai was in the net. Lee Gilbert has stuck with the hot hand of Breton Lindoff in net for Dunaújváros who had a completely healthy roster. The home team jumped out to a 1-0 lead when Phil Busbacher scored a power play goal. The SteelBulls doubled their lead on an Imre Peterdi power play goal. Minutes later Ferencváros made it a one goal game as Juha Hietamaki scored a power play goal of his own from the blueline, 21 seconds later Busbacher scored his second of the night to make it a two goal game again. In the closing minutes of the game Ferencváros was able to get one back thanks to Joona Manninen, FTC pulled Budai for the extra attacker but in the Fradi could not equalize and DAB picked up their first regulation win of the season.
AV19-Brasov 4-3
After played outstanding the last couple of game Alex Scola got the start in net again. With the injuries that have come up with the EBEL squad a number players have been called up from the MOL league team. Brasov had Rajmond Fülöp in net. Fehérvár jumped out to an early 2-0 lead after a Chris Bodó power play goal which was followed up by a Brance Orbán shorthanded goal. Brasov wiped out the two goal deficit in under half a minute on goals by Zsolt Molnár and Gergő Bíró. Late in the first period Volán had a two man advantage that Mitch Holmberg converted for the 3-2 lead. In the opening minutes of the second period Csanád Virág tied it up at 3-3. In the third period Preston Shupe was able to put one in the back of the net for the 4-3 win.
MAC-DVTK 0-2
This was the only game of the day that had two full healthy rosters, MAC Budapest had Bence Bálizs inbetween the pipes and DVTK has stuck with the rotation of Attila Adorjan and Bence Kiss with the former getting the start this time. The first period came and went with scoring chances on both sides but neither being able to convert. The second period was much the same as both goalies played well and were shutting the door on the opponent. In the closing minutes of the second period DVTK strung together a nice series of passes as Jesse Dudas set up Justin Cseter who slipped it over to Márk Miskolczi who nicely put it past Bálizs. In the third period Bence Gőz ripped a shot from the blue line to make it 2-0. The defending champions picked up three points on the road.
