The IIHF has announced their referee assignments for all of their competitions for the upcoming season. Hungary will have a record number of game officials this season.

After systematically creating and building up a program to have better referees and officials Hungary is finally seeing its fruits as a record 19 will be officiating in some capacity at an international event.

The IIHF will have Hungarian officials working on four continents with six making their international debut: Barna Kis-Károly, Ádám Ozsváth, Dániel Rencz, Balázs Somos, Áron Soltész and Dávid Váczi. “This year at the IIHF conference in Frankfurt we had the opportunity to present what we have been doing in the Hungarian referee development program. The concept was well received and it had a lot to do with how many match officials we have doing international games.” said Péter Beck Hungarian Ice Hockey Officials president.

Péter Gebei and Attila Nagy will be two A-licensed officials for the upcoming season and therefore could be working the A-Pool world championships.
