Hungary hit the ice on the last day of the World Championships with a chance to finish in third if they could defeat the Dutch.
Head coach Tibor Marton stuck with Anikó Németh as he didn't really have any other option for a goalie. Netherlands came out strong as Mieneke De Jong scored a power play goal in teh first five minutes of the game.
De Jong doubled the lead for the Dutch as that was all they needed. For the second game in a row Hungary was shut out.
Tibor Marton- “We really wanted to win but wanting is not enough at this level. Unfortunately for the second half of the tournament we lost our concentration, because of this we kept on getting sent to the penalty box. We couldn't convert on our scoring chances and in the end this is why we lost.”
