The IIHF every year has a weekend dedicated to getting girls interested in the sport of hockey, showing that it is not only for big bruising guys laying each other out with body checks, but that there is a finesse and speed to it that most people have a misunderstanding to sport that is poetry on ice.
This past weekend was the Girls Hockey Weekend, in Budapest it was held at the Ice Palace along with other cities throughout the country such as Dunaújváros, Miskolc, and Székesfehérvár.
Perspective pony-tailed hockey players had the opportunity to watch the girls U15 national team scrimmage against one another as well hit the ice themselves with the help of fathers, mothers, older siblings as well as adult hockey players as well.
This weekend for girls hockey has become more and more popular every year throughout the world and this is also true here in Hungary as well. It is only a matter of time until the Hungarian Women's national team will see the fruits of this annual weekend.
