
There was a noticeable difference in the skill level of the two team as Vasas is a junior team and Fehérvár had almost their full EBEL roster. Vasas had Kristóf Bozsó in net with Fehérvár countering with Zoltán Hetényi. Interestingly Fehérvár kept the scoring balanced as they scored four goals per period. András Benk opened up the scoring early with Brance Orbán making it 2-0 off of a pass from Ladislav Sikorcin, Sikorcin and Orbán scored the final two goals of the period. In the middle twenty minutes both teams switched goalies at the midway point, Vasas had Csaba Medgyes go in at the 28th minute mark for Vasas and Alex Scola entered the game for Fehérvár seconds past the midway point. Richárd Reiter made it 5-0 with Tamás Sárpátki and Chris Francis following up soon after before Benk scored his second one of the game. In the third period Tihamér Becze scored the ninth Volán goal of the game before Orbán completed his hat trick and Reiter scored his second goal of the game with Gergő Nagy scoring the 12th and final goal of the game. Hetényi and Scola combined for the shutout.

Both teams dressed a short bench as the teams had an exodus of players recently. DAB Dávid Duschek in net with Ádám Vay in net for Debrecen. After a scoreless first period Mike McCann put the home team up 1-0 in the opening minutes of the second period. Ten minutes later Norbert Dancsfalvi tied it up, however in the last minute of the period McCann struck again when he took a pass from Márk Nagy and put it past Vay. Artyom Vaszjunyin tied it up at 2-2 and with 70 seconds left in the game Martin Saluga set up Vladislav Troshin for the winning goal.
