HC: UTE shuts out Vasas

After not playing last season Vasas is back in the Hungarian Cup Qualification round under the leadership of head coach Csaba Jánosi as they take on MOL League quarterfinalist UTE. The MOL League squad had two younger players get called up to the senior team such as Zsolt Szalma and Máté Garbacz, Ales Sila got the start in net as he was back from injury, however Benji Nemes was sitting out a suspention. The young Vasas squad had Gábor Perczel starting in net. UTE only managed to score one goal in the first period, which came in the opening minutes of the game when István Szűcs beat Perczel for the goal. Vasas managed to keep it a one goal game just about to the midway point when Eric Pance made it 2-0. UTE scored three more times before the period was out when Ádám Pischler, Tamás Virág and Martin Turbucz all found the back of the net. Vasas switched goalies for the third period as Kristóf Bozsó came in for Perczel. In the final twenty minutes Phil Bushbacher and Pance score to set the final at 7-0.
