
The HIHF Board of directors meat on July 16th, a number of agenda topics were covered, some decisions were passed others were tabled until a later date.
Gábor Pap, team leader of the Hungarian Inline national team gave an account of this years Division 1 World Championships where the national team finished in 5th place. Pap also informed the HIHF about the decision that was made by the IIHF to have the Inline world championships every other year. At the world championships in Finland all of the participants were against this idea, the team leader of Team USA who has been a presence on the international scene for years argued that the popularity of the sport would take a hit since most of the domestic leagues which only run a couple of months, are staying afloat because players have the chance to play in the world championships. The IIHF will discuss this subject at the federation meeting in September.
The board accepted the changes made to the competition committee's work, with regards to the way the box scores are kept, transfer cards being electronically sent, as well as players having their medical clearance sent electronically as well. The idea of the MOL League expanding even more was discussed and the HIHF accepts the decision by the members of the League with regards to the Romanian club Galati joining the league. The clubs stated that because of the distance and economic reasons they do not wish to add the club to the league. The naming rights negations of the league have advanced however a final contract has yet to be signed.
At the Romanian Hockey Federation general assembly the RHF president Mihai Covaliu answered HIHF president Csaba Kovács’ question saying the two clubs, HSC Csíkszereda and Brasov in his opinion should play in the MOL League however RHF board will only meet in a couple of days
The board unanimously supported the idea of Csíkszereda and a second Romanian team taking part in the Hungarian U12 league, assuming the Romanian Federation lets them. Along with Csíkszereda Brasov would also enter a team that would be made up of players from Brasov as well as players from the surrounding area such as Sepsiszentgyörgy or Kézdivásárhely.
The final topic on the agenda was what city would host the women’s U18 Division 1 world championships, Miskolc won the right to host the tournament that will be played in January of 2016.
