HIHF Executive committee meeting

The Hungarian Ice Hockey Federation held their regularly scheduled executive board meeting and they discussed the following topics.

  1. Attila Nagy, the general manager of the U20 national team gave his final update on the Division 2/A World Championships that were held in Lithuania which Hungary won and were promoted to next year's Division 1/B World Championships.

  2. Dr. Zsuzsanna Kolbenheyer gave update on the recently concluded women’s U18 World Championships in Miskolc where the girls finished in fifth place and avoided relegation.

  3. Zoltán Kovács secretary general of the federation spoke about the ticket sales of the Olympic Qualifying Tournament that will be held between February 11th and the 14th. This is the first time in the history of the of László Papp Budapest Sports Arena that every ticket was sold before the event.

  4. It was determined that in what guidelines can OB3 and OB4 hockey teams apply for TAO (state funding) funding for the 2016-17 season.

  5. The Federation has determined that a maximum of 5 naturalized  with no Hungarian roots can be a part of the  senior national team at one time.

  6. The HIHF accepted Kecskeméto Solymok as a member of the federation and also took into consideration the appeal of SC Csíkszereda after they had to forfeit two U16 games.

  7. Debreceni HK submitted an application to host the Hungarian Cup final for the dates of March 26th-27th
