Team Hungary’s head coach Rich Chernomaz has invited a 46-strong roster for this this season’s first IIHF week, which will run from November 2-8. The roster will be cut down to 28 for the Four Nations Tournament in Stavanger.
Missing from this April’s glorious world championships’ roster is Csanád Erdély who is staying with his USHL team the Sioux Falls Stampede and Tyler Metcalfe who remains in Canada until Christmas with his wife and newborn daughter.
There will be a bunch of new faces at camp, for instance foreign-born D-men Jesse Dudas and Kevin Wehrs who are both awaiting their Hungarian passports, but would be available to play at the A-poll Worlds in the spring. A couple of young talents will have their chance to shine, too.
The players are to report for duty on November 2nd, and will have numerous trainings on and off the ice on Monday and Tuesday on either side of the roster cut which will be made midday Tuesday. The team is set to travel to Norway on Wednesday and will be playing their first game on Thursday, November 4th against hosts Norway. Team Hungary will play against Denmark on Friday and France on Saturday before travelling home on Sunday.
