Hungary wins Promotion to Div 1/A

Hungary headed their game against host nation Italy undefeated and with a win they would secure promotion to Division 1/A.

Head coach Tibor Marton stuck with the hot hand in net as Anikó Németh got the start in net

Coach Marton had a full roster available for himself against the Italians.

The first period was relatively balanced for almost all of the first period, this was reflected in the amount of shot take as Italy out shot Hungary 10 to 9. However, Hunagry took a 2-0 lead late in the first period in a span of 10 seconds. Lili Pintér made it 1-0 with a short from the first faceoff circle and Réka Dabasi doubled the lead on a 2 on 1.

Hungary looked liek the strong team in the second period, Berni Németh made it 3-0 when he slipped the puck between the goalies legs and later in the period Tifani Horváth made it 4-0 and Italy switched goalies. The goalie change looked to work as less than a minute later Italy scored to end the Hungarian shutout.

In the third period Italy kept on trying to get back into the game. The host team managed to get with in two goals and even pulled their goalie for the extra attacker but in the end Hungary held on for the 4-2 win and promotion to Division 1/A.

Anikó Németh was named the best player for Hungary.
