DAB.Docler has joined in with Újpest and Miskolc in bringing in a new coach for the 2014-15 MOL League season. Stephan Lundh is leaving Dunaújváros to go back to his homeland of Sweden to coach IK Pantern where he will have the opportunity to coach his son, former DAB player Fabian. Replacing Lundh will be Canadian Don MacLean, who comes over from Medvescak Zagreb of the KHL where he had been an assistant coach for three seasons. MacLean was the head coach for the second season of the Croatian national team at the Division 1B world championships.

During his first two season on the coaching staff in Zagreb the club had played in the EBEL before making the jump to the KHL for the 2013-14 season. MacLean had finished up his playing career in the Croatian capital before making the jump to the bench. Aside from being familiar with Hungary during his days in the EBEL with both Zagreb and Salzburg he was also coached by former Hungarian national team coach Ted Sator and was on the coaching staff of current SAPA Fehérvár AV19 coach Marty Raymond, where one of the forwards was current Fehérvár winger Frank Banham.

MacLean started his career playing junior hockey in the QMJHL as a solid point a game forward before he was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in the second round of the 1995 NHL draft. MacLean spent nine out of the next 10 seasons bouncing between the NHL and the minor leagues with spending the lockout season in Finland with the Espoo Blues. In the NHL he stepped on the ice for the Kings, Toronto Maple Leafs, Columbus Blue Jackets, Detroit Red Wings, and Phoenix Coyotes.

MacLean would end up spending his last four seasons in Europe playing in the Swiss, Danish, Swedish and Austrian top leagues.

After finishing the regular season at the top of the Mol League table DAB had a disappointing playoffs as they were upset in the first round by Brasov.

DAB.Docler officially has not announced any offseason player movement or acquisitions yet aside from fringe player Istvan Mestyan’s return from Ferencváros and young goalie Mark Hajek’s arrival from Újpest, but it is rumored that goalkeeper Tamás Kiss is leaving the club but it is not known yet if he will be moving to either of the Budapest clubs or hanging up the skates.
