The Women’s national team held their first minicamp of the season, icehockey.hu cought up with head coach Tibor Marton.
“We emphasised the play in the defensive zone during these past two days, esspecial the positioning, we also covered defending in all areas of the ice, the neutral zone and the offensive end as well. This is important because defending doesn't start just at the defensive zone but the moment you lose the puck. The plan was not to cover systems during the first minicamp of the season, we were looking at what form the girls who play in Hungary are in and which ones have a chance of making the world championship roster.”
“Our next camp is in November where I hope we will have some of the girls that are playing abroad, however the girls that were here but will be playing on the U18 team at the world championships will not be in camp since they will be with the U18 squad since that takes priority.”
