After unusual circumstances the MOL League championship series finally was underway with a 7-0 blowout out Miskolc win.

With Nové Zámky failing to show up for the first game of the best of seven series Miskolc was awarded a 5-0 win in game one. For game two the home team brought out all the festivities as they raised the banner for being Hungarian Champions.

Miskolc came out to play, coach Gergely Majoross stuck with the hot hand in net as Bence Bálizs started in net, on the other side Lubomir Hurtaj stuck with Lukás Cikánek after he made the switch in the semifinals series. The first period was filled with hard checking a true playoff atmosphere but no goals were scored.

Adrián Tóth opened up the scoring in the early part of the second period when a puck squeaked through the legs of Cikánek to make it 1-0, minutes later Keegan Dansereau scored a nice power play goal to put the home side up by two. Before the period was out Miskolc had 3-0 lead on a second Tóth goal, this time on a powerplay.

In the third period Miskolc continued where they had left off as it didn’t take long for Dansereau to score his second of the night. The defensmen also got into teh goal scoring as Jesse Dudas found a soft spot in the Nové Zámky defence in front of the net and flipped pass past Cikánek, who was chased from the net by the Dudas goal. Hurtaj made the move back to Pavel Krajcovic but it looks like that didn't make a difference as Miskolc put two past him as well. Balázs Gőz snipped one from the faceoff circle and Krisztián Nagy set up Zach Cohan beautifully for the last on in a 7-0 win as Bálizs pitched a shutout.

Gergely Majoross- “It is tough to get back into “game mode" after 17 days. I am glad we got back on track so quick and smooth. It is just one win, we need two more to make our dream come true.”

Keegan Dansereau-”We thrive on playing at home, they are a good team and we gotta respect them, we haven't played in two weeks so it was a bit hard at the beginning but everything came together. We stuck with our game and we didn’t give up”

Lubomir Hurtaj-”Everyone is familiar with our situation, we recently we have been playing games one after another. We didn't start the game bad but in the second period the goals started to come and we were not able to stand up from that. It doesn’t matter if we lose be one goal or  by seven but a loss is a loss”
