DAB-UTE 3-4 OT
The qualifying round of the Hungarian cup was back under way Saturday night as Újpest travelled south to Dunaújváros. The home team was playing without Péter Németh and Imre Peterdi and Dávid Duschek was starting in net. UTE had Ales Sila in the cage, Benji Nemes was missing because of a suspension, Ádám Garbacz, Martin Turbucz and Jozef Mihálik was also not in the lineup. Gergely Borbás set up Máté Szepessy at the ten minute mark of the first period to put DAB up 1-0. Minutes later there was a quick scoring burst in the game as Arnold Feil tied the game up off of an Ákos Kiss pass but DAB followed this up with two quick goals to go up by two when René Léránt and Bence Mátyássy both scored. The scored in the period did not end there as UTE scored two in a row of their own as the Kiss brothers both found the back of the net. Daniel scored a power play goal and Ákos tied it up off of a pass by Péter Huba. Interestingly the second and third period came and went without a goal being scored after six in the first twenty minutes. In over time Ákos Kiss was able to beat Duschek for the game winner.
