
UTE-DVTK 1-2 OT
Aside from Gőz being out DVTK visited Újpest with a healthy lineup, with Attila Adorján defending the cage. UTE had their team captain Teemu Elomo back after missing their last game, Ales Sila was in net. The game started with a scoreless first period but in the opening minute of the second DVTK took the lead off of a lucky bounce as Balázs Láda put a shot on net that took a look bounce off of an UTE defender and went in. Diógyőr held a 1-0 lead throughout the rest of the period until the last minute with UTE on the 5 on 3, when Elomo banked the puck off of Adoriján’s pads and in. The defensive battle continued deep into the third period where no goals were produced as the game went into overtime. Late in the extra session Adrián Tóth slipped a rebound in to win the game 2-1.
DVTK head coach Péter Mayer: I don't mind that it was a low scoring game, this means that we played well defensively, we were not able to capitalize on our scoring chances even though we created a number of them, I am happy with the two points since we played a very balanced game and we need to continue on this road.
HSC-Brasov 0-2
Monday night brought another Transylvanian derby to the fans of the MOL League as Brasov took the bus ride up to Csíkszereda for the game that also counts for the Romanian league, the game was originally scheduled for Tuesday night. Gellért Ruczuj started in net for HSC with Zoltán Tőke for Brasov. The two goalies went toe to toe in a scoreless first and almost to the midway point in the game as Brasov broke the tie when csanád Fodor set up Csaba Nagy for the goal. The scoreless stayed 1-0 in favor of the visitors through the second and into the third period. Csíkszereda pulled their goalie in the closing minutes but Árpád Mihály scored an empty netter to set the final at 2-0.
