
Brasov-UTE 1-7
Újpest was hoping to get their road trip off on the right foot. Ales Sila got the start in net. Brasov gave a couple of their veterans the day off the night before, Zoltán Tőke was back in the net. The game started with Evgeny Pisarenko getting tossed from the game before it was 5 minutes old leaving Brasov with 4 blueliners. On the ensuing power play Ákos Kiss set up Peter Huba for the opening goal of the game. Ádám Pischler scored an unassisted goal to double the UTE lead and a second Huba goal made it 3-0 with Tamás Virág getting the assist. After the first 20 minutes Brasov switched goalies with Szilárd Béres replacing Tőke. The visitors went up 4-0 on a goal by Teemu Elomo. Brasov got on the scoreboard by the way of a power play goal by Csanád Fodor, but Ádám Hegyi scored his first goal of the game, shorthanded to put UTE back up by four goals. Újpest made a goalie change of their own with József Pleszkán coming in for Sila in the third period. The game stayed 5-1 until the closing minute of the game when Péter Gágyor and Ákos Kiss both found the back of the net to set the final score at 7-1.
