DAB-MAC 2-5
With teams had picked up some injuries since their last matchup, MAC was without Attila Németh, Dunaújváros was without Gergely Borbás. Gergely Arany started in net for the home team and Dávid Duschek for the home team. DAB opened up the scoring first in the early minutes of the game when Michal Vazan carried the puck into the attacking zone from the right side and beat Arany on the far side. It didn’t take long for MAC to tie the game up, Ian McDonald centered the puck from the right corner, Jeff Hayes’ first shot was saved but he put his own rebound in. If something works, stick with it, before the period was out McDonald set up Hayes again from the corner but this time Hayes scored on his first shot. With Dunaújváros on the power play they managed to tie the game up when Vazan fired a rocket on net that Arany had no chance at stopping. Later in the second period MAC took back the lead, with a scramble in front of the net, István Terbócs came out with the puck and slipped it in low past Duschek. MAC doubled their lead in the first minute of the third period when Michael Quinn skated into the zone, skated through two defenders, faked out the goalie and lifted the puck over him for the goal. The visitors put the game out of reach for DAB with a power play goal, Quinn carried the puck into the zone, put a tape to tape pass on Dávid Szappanos’ stick who just redirected it into the empty net. MAC held on for the 5-2 win.
