Today marked the 60th anniversary of hockey in Újpest, what better way to celebrate than facing the team’s biggest rival Ferencváros. Oliver Ágost started in net and Marko Luomala made his debut with his new team. For the home team Ales Sila was in net and Róbert Dömötör was missing from the squad. The home crowd had something to cheer about in the opening minutes of the game as UTE took a 1-0. On the power play Peter Huba took a shot from the blue line that Benji Nemex redirected past Ágoston. Minutes later UTE was on the power play again but this time Luomala took a pass from Valecko and skated in on a breakaway to tie it up with a shorthanded goal. After one Finn tied it up for Fradi another gave them the lead, this time Bence Zalavári took a shot from the blueline that Joona Mannien redirected for the goal. In the second period Manninen scored his second of the night when he one timed a pass from Jereme Tendler from the faceoff circle. The young Finn completed his hat trick on a nice individual effort, he stole the puck off of Sila, who was trying to control a bouncing puck, Manninen wrapped the puck around for the natural hat trick. Later in the period Attila Rafaj brought the puck down the left wing and dished the puck from down low to Vladimir Dubek who flipped it into the empty net.
