Debrecen arrived to Budapest with Danil Kaskov and Vladislav Troshin back in the lineup but Ákos Berta was out, Ádám Vay was in net. MAC had Dezső Roczanov back from suspension but Drew Olson was still out. MAC controlled most of the first period but were not able to find the back of the net. Late in the period Jeff Hayes took a pass in the slot from Ian McDonald and one timed it past Vay for the goal. In the closing seconds of the period period Mike Quinn crashed the net and redirected a pass from the corner for the 2-0 lead. Early in the second period McDonald weaved through the Debrecen zone and slipped the the puck past Vay to make it 3-0. In the third period Hayes made a tape to tape pass down low to Klempa who redirected the puck to make it 4-0.
