
Brasov-UTE 5-4 OT
Újpest was hoping to finish its road trip in Romania with a second win, Ales Sila got the start and Szilárd Béres was in net for the home team. Goals were scored on the first power play of each team, first Tamás Virág scored to put UTE up 1-0, however on Brasov’s first man advantage UTE was the one that scored a shorthanded goal by the way of Dániel Kiss with Teemu Elomo getting the assist. Tivadar Petres scored for Brasov later in the period to make it 2-1, in the second period just past the midway point of the game Brasov tied it up on a power play goal of their own, when Csaba Nagy set up Zsolt Molnár for the tying goal with the home team taking the lead late in the period on a power play goal by Ottó Bíró. It didn’t take long for UTE tie the game up at 3-3, in the first minute of the third period Tamás Gröschl scored a power play goal off of a pass from Dániel Kiss. Later in the period Benji Nemes gave UTE the lead back for the first time since the first period when he scored an unassisted goal. In the last minute of play Brasov pulled their goalie for the extra attacker and the move paid off when Árpád Mihály scored with 12 seconds left off of a Dániel Tranca pass, to send the game into overtime. In overtime neither team was able to score until Brasov had a two man advantage and Nagy scored with one second left to pick up the overtime win.
SC-MAC 2-6
After serving his five game suspension Drew Olson was back in the MAC lineup for the first time, Bence Bálizs was in net, for the home team Marek Peksa got the start. The first goal of the game came off of a MAC defenseman stick when István Mestyán managed to put the puck past Peksa. In the opening minutes of the second period two MAC young guns made it 3-0 as first István Terbócs scored and half a minute later Richárd Tóth got one past Peksa. Later in the period Csíkszereda ended the the shutout Bálizs had going as Kirils Tambijevs setup Anton Berlev for the first home team goal of the game. The two teams would exchange goals in the remaining part of the middle period as Ian McDonald set up Tomas Klemp to make it 4-1 but Tambijevs scored to make it a three goal game with Alexander Dyadyushko getting the assist. In the third period Klempa put MAC back up by three with a powerplay goal. A second Terbócs goal in the game put MAC Budapest up 6-2.
DHK-DVTK 1-3
Debrecen dressed their fifth goalie this season as Kristóf Dorogi dressed for his first MOL League game of his career, however Ádám Vay started in net. Zoltán Csíki, Kasper Emanuelsson, Ákos Berta and Fyodor Kozlovsky were missing. For Diósgyőr they dressed only five defenscmen as they are dealing with injuries and Attila Adorján is in camp with the Romanian U20 national team. Dávid Gyenes got his first start after missing about a season and a half with an injury. Balázs Láda, Jon Booras, Levente Szilágyi and Adrián Tóth were all missing. With the game scoreless for most of the first period Diósgyőr scored twice in a 42 second span when both Jarkko Leppanen and Justin Csete managed to put the puck past Vay. In the second period Danil Kaskov scored to end the shutout that Gyenes had going. Cseter scored his second of the game in the third period on a power play when Jesse Dudás set him up. Diósgyőr held on for the win.
AV19-FTC 1-0
Fenecváros had yet to score a goal all season in Fehérvár, the visitors had Krisztián Budai in net as Olivér Ágoston is out with an injury, and Juha Hietamaki was sitting out a one game suspension. On the home side Máté Arany and Márk Szaller were missing. The game was a real defensive battle with both teams having a number of scoring chances both on the man advantage and at even strength. Both Budai and Kalnins played outstanding throughout the game as the first two periods came and went without a goal being scored. In the 49 minute mark Fehérvár went up 1-0 on a power play goal by Alex Grieve scored after there was a scramble in front of the Fradi net when the visitors were not able to clear the puck, Mitch Holmberg was credited with the assist. In the last minute of play Ferencváros pulled Budai for the extra attacker but they ran out of time as Kalnins picked up the shutout.
