This was a Budapest derby that was actually contested in Kaposvár. MAC was without Krisztián Nagy who was out because of a suspension and Bence Bálizs was the starting goalie in net. Ferencváros was playing without Jereme Tendler who was expecting his second child to be born, Krisztián Budai was in net. The “home team” went up 2-0 in a under a two minute span in the first period when István Terbócs set up Niko Saarenpaa for the first goal of the game with Ian McDonald doubling the lead off of a pass by Tomas Klempa. In the second period Terbócs and Robi Egyed both scored to go up 4-0 with Egyed’s goal being short handed, with Klempa scoring one in the closing minutes to go up 5-0. MAC scored a second shorthanded goal in the game, this time off of the stick of Kristóf Schmál. Bálizs went the distance to pick up the shutout win.
DAB-Brasov 2-1
After a long time Breton Lindoff was back between the pipes for Dunaújváros with Dávid Duschek out, also missing was Máté Szepessy and Mike McCann. Brasov had a full roster with Zoltán Tőke in net. The veteran Imre Peterdi put Dunaújváros up 1-0 in the first period. Brasov tied it up in the second period when Zsombor Balázs put one past Lindoff. The game locked at 1-1 for most of the game until there were 10 minutes left when Péter Németh scored the second DAB goal of the game, which ended up being the game winner.
