DHK-DVTK 0-2

With Diósgyőr winning the first three games of the series against Debrecen the defending champions were one win away from getting back to the MOL League finals. Defending the DVTK net was Dávid Gyenes, Jesse Dudás was missing from the lineup as he was serving his final game of a six game suspension.. For the home team Ádám Vay was back between the pipes, all the suspended players were back in the lineup, Kaspar Emanuelsson was out with an illness.

Looks like the switch back to Vay in net paid off for Debrecen in during the early part of the game as neither team managed to score in the first period. The opening goal of the game was scored by DVTK when Justin Cseter jumped on a long rebound and he snapped it past Vay. Later in the period Jon Booras flipped a no look back handed pass towards the net that Attila Pavuk redirected past Vay to go up 2-0. The third period was much like the first as both Vay and Gyenes held their ground. With just over two minutes left in the period Debrecen pulled Vay for the extra attacker.

Jason Morgan: We got the result that we wanted, not the best first period, but we woke up and went up 2-0 and we took the momentum on throughout the game.

Jevgeni Muhin: we put a lot of work into the team since i have been with the team both mentally and physically, but it was still not enough, we faced a very good team and we left everything on the ice. It would have been nice to win at least one game against DVTK.
