Peter Huba gave UTE the lead when he collected a loose puck in the neutral zone, skated down the left wing and fired a shot past Sila from the left faceoff dot. Fehérvár tied it up on their first power play of the night when Brance Orbán hit Chris Bodo with a through pass on the back post which Bodo lifted into the empty net. At the beginning of the second period UTE scored a power play goal of their own when Erik Pance took a pass from the corner and sent a shot on net that somehow went through traffic. Both teams kept up the energy throughout the game. Neither team managed to score in the final eleven minute of play and the game went into overtime. With two minutes left in the extra period the game had to be suspended because of an injury to Devon Krogh.
