HSC Csíkszereda-Fehérvár AV19 8-3
There was only one game in the MOL League on Saturday night when Fehérvár traveled to Romania for the first time this season. Because of the Romanian Federation scheduling a game on the same day as the Fehérvár game HSC had to split their roster with both games being played at home. The local fans saw their team beat Steaua Bucharest, and were hoping for a second win against Volán as Marek Peksa got the start in net. For the visitors Janis Kalnins started in net with Gergely Korbuly and Devon Krogh missing. Both goalies started the game well but Brance Orbán who was player of the week continued where he left off as he scored in the last minute of the first period. Levente Lengyel set up Ferenc Kocsis for the second Alba Volán goal in the second period. With HSC playing with a short bench the team needed everyone to step up, their young forwards cut into the Fehérvá lead when István Geréb set up Norbert Rokaly for the goal to make it 2-1. In the closing minutes of the period Mitch Holmberg scored a powerplay goal to put the visitors back up by two goals. Holmberg scored again in the opening minutes of the final period, but 31 seconds later Zsombor Molnár found the back of the net to put it back to a two goal game. Later in the period Holmberg completed his hattrick, at this time HSC switched goalies, with Ottó Ónodi coming in for Peksa. Csíkszereda’s chance of a comeback ended when the Heffernan brothers Kyle and Shane both were tossed from the game. Fehérvár quickly scored three goals on the 5 on 3. Kocsis his second of the game and Orbán the other two, to have a hattrick. The high scoring game did not end there as Rokaly scored one last HSC goal to set the final score at 8-3.
