MOL League: Budapest wins big

It was Budapest against Transylvania in the MOL League on saturday, as Brasov and Csíkszereda were in town.

FTC-Brasov 6-1

After coming on in the third period on Thursday Olivér Ágoston started in net for Ferencváros with Zoltán Tőke playing for Brasov. Joona Manninen put the home team Ferencváros up 1-0 in the first period, he doubled the Ferencváros lead right before the end of the first period on a powerplay goal. Fradi started to pull away in the second period when Niko Suoraniemi and Jimmy Jensen scored less than a minute apart. Just like at the end of the end of the first period FTC scored a power play goal in the last minute of the period when Juha Hietamaki scored from the blueline. In the third period Brasov ended the shutout when Mátyás Bíró set up Csanád Fodor for the two man advantage goal. In the last minute of play Vladimir Dubek set up Gábor Kiss for the sixth and final goal of the game.

MAC-HSC 7-3

In the late game in Budapest MAC started Bence Bálizs in net with HSC Csíkszereda countering with Marek Peksa between the pipes. However missing for MAC was team captain Viktor Tokaji MAC scored first late in the first period when an Attila Németh shot made it into the net, in the last minute of the period Ian McDonald set up Drew Olson for the snipe give the home team a 2-0 lead. In the second period Dávid Szappanos made it 3-0 on a power play goal.The goal scoring really took off for the home team in the second half of the period as MAC scored three time in a span of a 1.15 as a Niko Saarenpaa goal and two by Dávid Szappanos who completed his hattrick to make it 6-0 and the rout was on. HSC switched goalies after the Saarenpaa goal as Ottó Ónodi came off the bench. The third period started with a goalie change for MAC as well with Norbert Zaka getting his first ice time of the season. In the third period Tamás Bíró scored the first HSC goal of the game, less than a minute later Raman Mahdzeyeu cut the deficit to four. MAC and HSC exchanged goals late in the game when Dezső Roczanov scored an unassisted goal and Shane Heffernann scoring on the power play.
