MOL League: Close games all around

Brasov-DAB 1-3

After an overtime loss the night before Dunaújváros was hoping to pick up another three points on the road trip. Zoltán Tőke started in net for Brasov and Dávid Duschek for Dunaújváros. The veteran defenseman Yevgeni Pysarenko put Brasov up with an unassisted goal. Minutes later Péter Németh tied it for Dunaújváros. The game stayed tied at 1-1 for rest of the first and deep into the second period, in the closing minutes Tamás Lencsés set up Máté Szepessy for the go ahead goal. The score stayed in favor of Dunaújváros for the rest of the game, in the closing minutes Mátyás Bíró and Bálint Szepessy had a tussle, the Brasov played ended up with 10+2+2+2 for the rare 16 penalty minutes. Brasov pulled Tőke for the extra attacker at the end of the game, Garrett Milan scored an empty netter at the end to give Dunaújváros the game.

SC-DHK 4-3

A second home win this MOL League week would keep Sport Club in the playoff picture, they started with Marek Peksa in net, Debrecen went with Ádám Vay. The home team went  up on their first powerplay of the game when Kalvis Ozols put the puck past Vay. Csíkszereda switched goalies as Gellért Ruczuj came off the bench, three seconds later Vladislav Troshin scored to tie the game up with Danil Kaskov getting the assist. Minutes later Peksa was back on the ice defending the Csíkszereda cage. In the second period Norbert Dancsfalvi took a pass from Martin Saluga and put it into the back of the cage, later in the period Zoltán Molnár tied it up. In the closing minutes of the period the two teams exchanged goals as Nikita Mironov put the home team up from an Alpár Salló goal, and Dancsfalvi tied it up at 3-3. Zoltán Molnár scored his second of the night to give Csíkszereda the lead again. The home team held on for the important win.

DVTK-UTE 4-3 OT

Diósgyőr had a key player back for a first time in long time as Balázs Gőz was back in the lineup, getting the start in net was Attila Adorján, going against him in the UTE net was József Pleszkán. Jon Booras gave DVTK the lead late in the first period off of a cross ice pass from Adrián Tóth. In the second period the home team was up by two when Nikandrosz Galanisz skated through the UTE zone, put a close shot on net that Attila Pavuk redirected for the goal. Diósgyőr tooka 2-0 lead into the third period, but Újpest raised their game, first Peter Huba took a shot from the left faceoff circle that Adoriján saved, but Mihálik was there to stuff the puck in. Not much later Martin Turbucz picked up a loose puck during the penalty kill, skated in and put the puck through Adorjinán’s legs. The visitors took the lead off of Benji Nemes goal who put a rebound in off of a Tamás Virág shot. In the closing minutes Booras one timed a cross ice pass from Jarko Leppanen for the powerplay goal. In overtime DVTK took the third point that was up for grabs when Pavuk scored his second of the night when he took a feed from behind the net and put it home for the win.
