DAB-DHK 4-2

Monday night had one MOL League game, which also happened to be a TV game as Debrecen travelled to Dunaújváros The home was without Bence Dörök who was serving his first game of a six game suspension, Vladislav Troshin is out for Debrecen. Dávid Duschek started in net for the SteelBulls and Debrecen went with Ádám Vay who has played every minute of the season. The game started off at a fast pace with both team having scoring chances, Dunaújváros scored first when Péter Németh went down the left wing with some slick stick work got past a defender and slipped it to Mátyás Odnoga who stuffed his own rebound in. Less than two minutes later Debrecen answered back when Ákos Berta rifled a shot from the faceoff circle past Duschek glove side. DAB retook the lead after some quick one touch passes as Imre Peterdi took a pass from Zsolt Azari from behind the net and tapped it on to Mike McCann who put it into the empty net for the tic tac toe goal. Debrecen was able to answer again this time Artyom Vaszjunyin picked up a loose up on the left wing, skated in and slipped the puck between Duschek’s legs for the shorthanded equalizer. It looked for a long time that no goals would be scored in the second period, late in the period after a faceoff Máté Szepessy roofed a shot in the slot that made it past Vay to put DAB back up by one. In the third period DAB was awarded a penalty shot that Mike McCann converted one a backhanded shot. This was enough for the win as DAB held on for teh win and picked up three important points.

Dunaújváros head coach Lee Gilbert: It was a sloppy game, we had luck on our side and we will take the three points, we made a lot of mistakes and turned over the puck a lot.
