The Disciplinary Commission no.2015-16/002 decision
The Disciplinary Committee investigated the MOL League game MOL 16 (FTC-DHK), where Ákos BERTA Debreceni HK player 51 was being penalized for 5 minutes + GA-MI penalty for SLASHING after 34 minutes. The Committee made the following conclusions:
Debreceni HK player 51 hit with the stick FTC player 18 with great force in his own defending zone. The FTC player 18 tried to reach the puck, when the Debreceni HK player hit his hand. The FTC player was injured and he was not able to continue the match. According to the medical report, he suffered a cracked wrist.
RULE 159-SLASHING "A player who injures or recklessly endangers an opponent by slashing will be assessed a major penalty and game-misconduct penalty or a match penalty..”
According to the statement of the Disciplinary Commission, the purpose of the Debreceni HK player’s action was not the acquisition of the puck, he was without regard to the physical integrity of his opponent during his act. He caused injury to his opponent by his action. Such attitudes are unnecessary, they have no place in matches.
The Disciplinary Commission suspends Ákos BERTA, Debreceni HK player 51 for one MOL Liga match.
