The Disciplinary Commission no.2015-16/010 decree
The Disciplinary Committee investigated two cases during the MOL League match MOL 64 FTC-DVTK. In one case the referees issued a Match Penalty (MATCH), and in the other case two players were penalised 5-minutes and a Game Misconduct (GA-MI).
The Disciplinary Committee made the following conclusion about these cases:
Event 1
Akos LACZKO DVTK (No.23player) at the 52nd minute collided irregularly from behind to the opponent's back and neck, near the boards. The referees issued Match Penalty (MATCH).
RULE 124–CHECKING TO THE HEAD OR NECK
DEFINITION: A player who directs a hit of any sort, with any part of his body or equipment, to the head or neck of an opposing player or drives or forces the head of an opposing player into the protective glass or boards. This rule supersedes all similar actions regarding hits to the head and neck except those related to fighting. A player who injures or recklessly endangers an opponent as a result of checking to the head or neck will be assessed a match penalty.
The MOL League Disciplinary Committee declares that during the collision Akos LACZKO hit the opponent player from behind, and he did not consider that there is no opportunity to prepare for it.
The FTC player suffered a minor injury, he was able to continue the game. The player who collides must know that the opponent player may suffer injuries in such position, and should do everything possible to avoid it.
The Disciplinary Commitee suspends Akos LACZKO, DVTK player for 3 MOL League matches
Event 2After the end of the match, No.7 player of FTC David HORVATH and DVTK No.10 player Patrik POPOVICS started a fight. The referees penalized both players 5-minute Misconduct Penalty (GA-MI).
RULE 141–FIGHTING
DEFINITION: A player who punches an opponent during game action, after a whistle, or any time during the regular course of a game during a prolonged player confrontation. A player who removes his glove(s) or helmet with the intention of engaging in a confrontation with an opponent will be assessed a misconduct penalty in addition to any other penalties. A player who tries to fight or continues to fight after he has been ordered by the referee to stop, or who resists a linesman who is trying to circumvent the continuation of a fight, will be assessed a double minor penalty or a major penalty and automatic game misconduct penalty or a match penalty.
The Disciplinary Committee took into account during the decision, that the FTC Player resisted the referee's instructions, torn out of his grasp, and he started fighting. The DVTK player dropped his stick and gloves, and he provoked the opponent player.
The Disciplinary Committee suspended the FTC player David HORVATH and the DVTK player Patrik POPOVICS each for 1 MOL League match.
The player (both cases) will sit their sentences at the next in line MOL League matches.
