MOL League: Disciplinary decree

The Disciplinary Committee no.2015-16/055 decree

The Disciplinary Committee investigated the MOL League game MOL 238 (DVTK Jegesmedvek - MAC Budapest) where Jesse Ray DUDAS, player of DVTK Jegesmedvek hit the opponent player. Penalty was not called In connection with the case. The Committee made the following conclusions: After 29 minutes the player of DVTK Jegesmedvek struck his opponent's head, after a stoppage whistle. According to the establishment of the Disciplinary Committee, the player's move was threatening injuries and was clearly unsportsmanlike, happened with an intimidating intent. The suffering player suffered the shock of impact during a stopped game, when he could not prepare for it. The player is not injured, he was able to continue the game. In this case the 168 and 124 rule should have been applied, and the player should have been penalized.

IIHF RULE 168 – UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT

DEFINITION: A player or team official who commits a violation of the rules pertaining to sportsmanship, fair play, and respect.

IIHF RULE 124 – CHECKING TO THE HEAD OR NECK

DEFINITION: A player who directs a hit of any sort, with any part of his body or equipment, to the head or neck of an opposing player or drives or forces the head of an opposing player into the protective glass or boards. This rule supersedes all similar actions regarding hits to the head and neck except those related to fighting.

The Disciplinary Committee invites the players and the referees note, that after the wisthle when the game stopped, the physical contact, push or punch is unsportsmanlike, shall be penalized in any situation.

The Disciplinary Commitee suspends Jesse Ray DUDAS, the DVTK Jegesmedvek player for 1 MOL League match. The player will spend down his sentence at the next MOL League match.
