The Disciplinary Commission no.2015-16/039 decree

The Disciplinary Committee investigated the MOL League game MOL 204 (Ferencvarosi TC – Dunaujvarosi Acelbikak) where Peter NEMETH, player of Dunaujvarosi Acelbikak was being penalized 2 minutes for cross checking (CROSS). The Committee made the following conclusions:

After 47 minutes, the player of Dunaujvarosi Acelbikak irregularly collided with his stick.

IIHF RULE 127 – CROSS-CHECKING

DEFINITION: A player who delivers a check to the body of an opponent with both hands on the stick and no part of the stick on the ice. A player who cross-checks an opponent will be assessed at least a minor penalty. A player who injures or recklessly endangers an opponent by crosschecking will be assessed a major penalty and automatic gamemisconduct penalty or match penalty.

According to the statement of the Disciplinary Committee, the player hit the opponent, who was skating without the puck. He should know, that he push him toward the net in a position, that could cause injury. The offending player had no chance to prepare to the collision. The opponent player suffered a concussion because of the collision, he could not continue the match.

The Disciplinary Commitee suspends Peter NÉMETH, the player of Dunaujvarosi Acelbikak for 2 MOL League matches. The player will spend down his sentence at the next 2 MOL League matches.
