Brasov-DVTK 0-8

Diósgyőr kicked off their Romanian road trip at last place Brasov who happened to send out a reserve squad against the league leaders. A number of key players were missing, among them captain Árpád Mihály and this past week’s player of the week Zoltán Tőke. Starting in net in place of Tőke was Szilárd Béres, on the other side DVTK had Bence Kiss in net. As expected DVTK scored the first goal of the game, but it wasn’t scored until the eighth minute when Keegan Dansereau took a pass from Adrián Tóth and put it past Béres. Later in the period Patrik Popovics scored twice in a twenty two second span with Nikandrosz Galanisz assisting on the first one with the second one being unassisted. Galanisz scored a power play goal before the period was out to have DVTK a 4-0 lead after 20 minutes. After scoring four in the first Diósgyőri VTK managed to only score once in the second period when Roland Hajós scored off of a pass from Ákos Laczkó. In the third period with the game already in the bag it was the Tóth and Márk Miskolczi show as a Miskolczi goal was sandwiched between two Tóth goals. Interestingly enough Miskolczi assisted on both of Tóth’s goals with Tóth and Jon Booras setting up Márk Miskolczi for his.
